Welcome to the Lobster.com Seafood Recipe Digest, which we publish to help you and your friends share the joy of Maine lobster and other great seafood dishes.

In addition to being a passionate cook, I am a cookbook historian. In the Seafood Recipe Digest, we include the wisdom recorded in vintage cookbooks from my personal collection ~ the largest collection of cookbooks in America. More than how-to recipes, vintage cookbooks reveal a lot about our social history ~ about the era in which they were published.

This issue, in our "Restaurants of Yesteryear" department, we peek at the old Colony Restaurant of New York City and include two of their classic 1940's seafood recipes. We interview today's great chef Rick Moonen on his career and what he loves about seafood. As you poke around the Seafood Recipe Digest, you will find much more to enjoy and share.
